Skamania Economic Development Council (Skamania EDC) is a private non-profit 501(c)3 whose mission is to define, support and promote policies and activities that contribute to the economic stability and growth of Skamania County through business retention, expansion, and new business development. It also actively pursues opportunities to develop new opportunities.
In addition to the State of Washington Department of Commerce, the EDC also contracts with North Bonneville and Stevenson, as well as Skamania County and Skamania PUD for services.
The EDC offers two microloan programs and a private fund program through USDA Rural Development. Working with the Washington Department of Commerce, they also offer Washington Investment Fund loans. In addition, EDC actively seeks out public and private funding sources for economic development projects, as well as assists with securing these resources.
Further, it offers direct access to business counseling services through a partnership with the City of North Bonneville and Stevenson, the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce, Skamania County, the Port of Skamania County, and the Skamania Public Utility District.
Additionally, it works with Skamania County community partners to promote local projects to attract funding.
