About
EDC Team Jefferson (the EDC) is the Washington State Department of Commerce designated Associate Development Organization for Jefferson County. The mission of the organization is to foster a business-friendly environment that fuels economic sustainability, drives innovation, and inspires collaborative community leadership. As an Economic Development Council, the EDC is reorganizing itself in 2022 to become a central hub for business service provision and economic research. The EDC assists businesses in-house, connects businesses to resources through our partner network, and assists in sourcing funding.Jefferson County is the home of Local Investing Opportunity Network (LION), a network that provides individual loans to small businesses. LION invests $800,000+ in the local business community each year. The EDC has a role in facilitating the connection between applicants and community investors, as well as referring clients to local banks for conventional lending.
The EDC works with local service providers who are uniquely suited to promote offerings for startups and microenterprises. The EDC works through partner networks to specifically connect business clients to advisors with the expertise required for the business’ stage of growth and can help source industry specific information.
