Northwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center

Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAAF) is a federal program that provides up to $75,000 in cost-sharing financial assistance to U.S. manufacturing companies (and many seafood, agriculture, and service companies) facing import competition.

About

TAA for Firms is a cost-sharing program funded through the Economic Development Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce. The program helps established U.S. companies that have been negatively impacted by foreign competition by providing up to $75,000 in matching assistance. The monetary assistance funds projects aimed at rebuilding company sales and competitiveness.

Eligible companies pick multiple projects that will be funded and select their preferred vendors. Projects include marketing and sales, website development, cybersecurity, IT projects, branding and packaging, engineering, training, management consulting, and others. Equipment and salary expenses are not eligible.

The program is open to eligible manufacturing companies and many seafood, agriculture, wood products, and service companies in Washington State.

To see if your company qualifies, ask these simple questions: 1) Has the company suffered a recent decline in employment, or are they facing an impending employment decline? 2) Has the company experienced a recent decline in overall sales or for a particular product line? 3) Is there foreign competition in their industry? We can help you determine if you are eligible with a quick, confidential phone call.

NorthwestTAAC prepares and submits all application and project paperwork to EDA at a nominal cost. NorthwestTAAC assists companies in Washington and the Northwest.
