Community Carrot

Community Carrot advances social justice and racial equity by teaching young adult entrepreneurs from low-income backgrounds how to start their own successful business.

About

Community Carrot is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Seattle that helps break the cycle of poverty by working with young adult entrepreneurs from low-income backgrounds to establish businesses that can serve them for a lifetime. We provide a life coach that connects participants to the services they need so they can remain focused on their business.

Even if they are not ready to launch their business, they learn the skills necessary to succeed.  We encourage participants to work as “intrapraneurs,” supporting other businesses so they can learn business best practices they may apply to their business. To date, Community Carrot has helped our participants to launch approximately 50 businesses.
