Zero Waste Washington

Zero Waste Washington drives policy change for a healthy and waste-free world. We envision a just, equitable, and sustainable future where we all produce, consume, and reuse responsibly.

About

Zero Waste Washington is 501(c)3 non-profit organization that drives policy change for a healthy and waste-free world. Zero Waste Washington envisions a just, equitable, and sustainable future where we all produce, consume, and reuse responsibly.

Achieving Zero Waste plays a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It saves natural resources. Less waste means less plastic pollution and fewer toxic chemicals in our environment. We seek to make systematic changes that have lasting impact. This means we work on laws and programmatic changes rather than focusing on individual behavior change.

We use three main strategies to achieve our mission: advocating policy changes for products and materials at the local, regional, and state levels; engaging residents in driving system changes; and implementing pilot projects to demonstrate that the desired change is possible.
